About Me

My Approach
My approach is based on the theories and philosophies of Humanistic Counselling. I focus on the individual in front of me and their unique experiences.

I encourage slowing down to notice the things that may sometimes be ignored, bringing awareness to emotions, embodiment and self in the 'here and now'. I make way for new meanings to be created between us, to explore experience together.
Creating space is central to my work, offering a safe environment where clients can express themselves freely without judgement.

Qualifications
I am a fully qualified counsellor, my diploma is in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy which I studied at the University of Brighton.
I am also a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists)
My Journey to Therapy
My journey to therapy started with my undergraduate degree in Psychology, I was always fascinated with the human mind.
Leaving University I wanted to focus more on helping others, I started volunteering and found a job that linked closely to mental health.

I started my training to be a therapist in 2020, I completed my Counselling Skills Level 2 and 3 at the MET College in Brighton. I enjoyed the theories and practice and knew I wanted to further my studies.

I completed my postgraduate degree in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Brighton. This had a focus and grounding in the philosophies of Phenomenology and Existentialism. I throughly enjoyed learning about the philosophies of the mind, and how meaning can be created from being in the world, and being with others. I also enjoyed how hands on the practice was, I grew as a therapist and found my own way of being in the room.

I am still learning through reading, workshops and peer group work. I am focused on being a reflective practitioner and this includes continuous learning and supervision.
